The Guest Book

I’ve always wanted a house big enough to have guests come and stay and feel comfortable doing so. When moving to Portland that’s one of the things that was high on my prayer list, a guest room. Thankfully the Lord answered that prayer with the house we’re in now and He has definitely used it. We have many guests come stay every month. I don’t think we’ve gone a whole month without guests using that room and we’re so thankful for it.

Matt and I have said for years how we really should get a guest book. But, we always forget and now it feels like we’ve missed years of entries in our book if we had started one. I’ve decided to start it now anyway. Better late than never right? Maybe that sounds dumb to some but I think it will be so fun to look back a few years down the road and see how many people God has allowed to enter our home and be a guest. I pray that they feel loved, welcomed, and see God at work. Even in the midst of a crazy life and imperfect people, because that’s what we are.

What about you? Do you have a guest book? Have you stayed with us in the past? If you have, sign my blog and I’ll write it in my book.

  1. We got a guest book after 10 years of missing recording our guests. It’s been fun to see people over the past three years sign in as singles, then newly married, and then with their kids. A great way to remember special times with friends.

  2. Cool idea! I get to write in it very soon! I also want a place for guests, other than a blow-up mattress on the living room floor.

Not many people take advantage of that one. I wonder why…?
