That’s What She Said….

IMG_8874We were out for a walk and after a while she said, “How long is this walk?” I asked why and she said, “Because I have sooooo much to do at home.” I said “Really, what would that be?” Her reply, “Crafts and it’s going to take me ALL day long.”

Matt asked her what she wanted to do before she was 7. She said, “Just hang out with my family. And play Candyland.” All of which we had done that day. #epicbucketlist

“Mom, I read the first 4 chapters of Matthew this morning! It was sooooo good.” (I had just rolled out of bed, and quickly felt convicted that my daughter read more of her bible than I probably would get to all day)

I said, “Good night my perfect angel” to which she responded, “Mom, I’m not perfect.”

I was putting her to bed and she said, “You’re the best mom in the whole world. (serious pause) I know that all kids say that but there really has to be ONE best mom in the world and it’s you.” I think I’ll keep that one in my pocket for a lifetime. Ah, that girl melts my heart.

She was up early and said. I’ll go back up and do my reading. I’m reading a book grammy gave me (It’s a Thesaurus) . It teaches me about verbs and adverbs and all kind of stuff. I’m only in the C family now. I have a lot to learn.

We were reading a devotion book before bed. It was talking about anger and being wise with our words. We read the verse Prov. 29:11, “A fool gives full vent to anger, but a wiser person quietly holds it back” and she said, “Oh man, I don’t think I’m very wise.” I laughed. Me either.

Matt said, “Wow those are colorful pants” and she replied, “I was made for color!”

“Did tulips exist in the past?” Matt said, “Like last month?” “No not last month.” “Like in the 80’s?” “Ya, in the 80’s” (I’m pretty sure she thinks the 80’s was the dark ages)

“Mom, how old are you going to be?” I told her and she said, “How is that possible. You were just 29.” Hahahaha! I really had her convinced I was 29 for the past 3 years. And she also thinks I was born in the dark ages I’m pretty sure.
