Resurrection Eggs

A friend asked to see our set of Resurrection Eggs so I’ll share with you all. What are resurrection eggs you ask? I didn’t know until a few years ago. It’s a set of eggs that you put things inside of that tell the story of Easter. It’s a great thing to do with kids (and for me) because it takes the focus off of bunnies and puts it where it really should be, on Jesus. It only takes a few minutes each day leading up to Easter and helps to give a little focus on important things.

I’ve kept things pretty simple this year. The only thing we’ve done here is the cross decoration for our window and the resurrection eggs. Life is full enough around here. I didn’t even dye eggs because Jenna did a dozen at school and we really don’t need more than that. Besides the thought of Isaac anywhere near dye to put on eggs makes me cringe knowing where it would end up. I’m also going to try resurrection rolls on Easter morning.

Anyway, here’s what I put in each of my eggs below if you want to make your own. I printed the message and the verse on little pieces of paper and insert them in each egg along with the item in each one. I know it’s a little late but better late than never and they can be used every year. I also know that there are many different things you can put inside them and the order can be different in each set. There’s no wrong way to do it as long as it shares the main story of Easter.
