Please Pray

There is heartache and tragedy in everyone’s life but some people just get more than seems possible to bear. I was told today that Isaac’s birth mom’s (Brittani) boyfriend was killed in a car accident along with his brother. This alone is incredibly tragic. But when you add that to the 30 foster homes, a boyfriend that died in high school, a broken engagement, an adoption and then she recently got back together with her ex-fiance, who is the one who was killed last night. And that is only some of the hard things that have happened in her life. Really God? Really? He also had a 5 year old son who now has no father.

My heart is heavy and burdened for Brittani. Will you please pray for her? Pray that she is comforted by God and runs to Him again. Also pray that the dad survives as he was also in the car and for his mom and son.

I also have some great friends from Bozeman who are going through some really challenging things. Their son had his growth plates prematurely fused together and now they have to have it surgically separated in order for his brain and everything else to develop correctly. What a scary thing for parents to go through! So please pray for our sweet friends Josh, Holly and Mason. His surgery is in the morning at 8:15.

Ugh, my heart is heavy for the people I care about. This is when I have to rely on who God says He is and trust Him more than circumstance. Easier said than done right? This is why it’s called faith.

  1. Jody,
This is so incredibly sad. My heart is heavy for her too after reading this. I will absolutely, without a doubt, be praying for her. I will pray she does turn to God for comfort and security in a time where I am sure it feels there is none. I am so, so sad for her and everyone affected by this awful accident.

You have such a kind heart Jody. I am honored to say I am your friend. If only we all cared about other people this much.

    • Thanks Holly! I’m honored to have you as my friend. Now if you would just move to Portland so I can hang out with you as much as I want to. Praying for you so much. I’m sure I’ll be up in the middle of the night with Isaac so I’ll pray then too 😉 Love you.

  2. Oh Jody, I know this breaks your heart. I am so sad for Brittani and yet like you said…we cling to what we know is true about God and not the circumstances. My favorite verse in times like these is to remind myself that “All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness.” I don’t pretend to understand his paths most of the time, but I am so thankful for the promise that He knows and that He directs all paths for His glory. Praying it brings comfort to you and Brittani.

  3. I hate it when God is particularly inscrutable. My heart is full and heavy for Brittani, for the family of her boyfriend, and for the worry the Allens are experiencing.

May He be so present for each of them. May He comfort, surround, and guard their hearts.
