Pain and Humiliation

April 20, 2011 — 5 Comments

Two things I dislike, pain and humiliation. I had a nice combo of the two yesterday as I flew home from Spokane. I think my friend Heather felt those things too because she had to sit next to me. She’s so great.

I have a sinus infection and already had ear pain from the flight there. Still not feeling well, I had to get on that plane. Someone told me that putting plastic cups over your ears on take off and landing would help so I tried it. I was desperate so I was willing to look like a total idiot. Although I did pass up the airplane pressure ear plugs because I didn’t want to pay $8. I know, I’m that cheap. That’s a whole different post. So, I used the cups. It eased the pain some but I was still sweating from the pain. Whew, I’m glad that’s over.

Here’s the picture to prove how stupid I looked. Not to mention tired and old. Look at those crows feet. Yikes.

So, if you’re desperate and need some relief on the plane, give it a try. That is, if you’re okay with people giving you weird looks.

  1. what crows feet? you are crazy! love you friend. and i wouldn’t have paid for those ear plugs either! $8!!!!!!!

  2. I was actually thinking how great you look! Funny how two different people can have such different opinions of the same picture 🙂 I am so sad that you are so sick. I hope you get some rest when you get home!

  3. So sorry it was a miserable flight 🙁 I think you look adorable with the cups on your ears…maybe not as fashionalble as the accessories Sam and Jocelyn suggested, but I think the look works for you 😉

  4. You’re so cute it hurts. I love you dearly and I’m excited to hang out soon!

  5. it was an honor to sit next to you, such a brave woman! 🙂
