“Mommy blogger”

I don’t know about you, but I hate being called a mommy blogger. I’m not sure why exactly. I’m a mom and I blog. But it has a negative connotation to me. I feel like others assume moms who blog, “mommy bloggers” have nothing better to do than write about how cute their kids are, only have conversations about their kids, and have nothing really to offer.

I do write about my kids, a lot more than some want to read about. I write about cooking and cleaning. I write about marriage. I write about God and how He’s impacted my life, my families life and the journey He has us on. I think all those things matter. I guess I just want to do more than have a blog. I want it to matter and when someone calls me a “mommy blogger” I feel like it doesn’t matter or they think I don’t have worth while things to talk about.

My hope is that through some of the ramblings and happenings I write about that God will be revealed and glorified, even if it’s through the ordinary activities of an everyday (feisty) mom.

Do any of you relate to this? Or am I just a little neurotic? Although, that may be a dangerous question to throw out there.
