Fashion Risk

If you know me then you know that I don’t shop without my husband. He is the one with good taste and style and he approves pretty much everything I wear. And when I get compliments it’s because he has bought my clothes. He’s just that great.

So getting to Tahoe and freezing for the first week I knew I needed another pair of shoes that were a little dressier than my New Balances. So I went to a store, wait for it, by myself. And there were a pair of black ankle boots on sale for $7. I know they are trendy and another reason I haven’t bought any of them. But, I was feeling desperate so I bought them. When I showed them to Matt he said, “wow, I can’t believe you bought those.” I don’t know if that was a compliment or not.

So I put them on and guess what? I got a few compliments. Even if I hadn’t, in my aging gracefully, I don’t seem to care. Maybe that freedom comes with age. Or it’s that I’ve lived in Portland too long and it doesn’t matter what you wear. Anything goes.

So here’s a picture of them. Some of you may not think they’re a risk but to me they were.
