Book Suggestions?

I’m wondering if anyone has any good book suggestions? Matt and I are going on vacation soon to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I’ll talk more about that another time. I’m so excited about it I can hardly wait! But I would love to take a good fiction book and a good parenting book with us to read. I may just take lots of naps instead but I’ll take a book or two anyway. I’ll go with great intentions.

What book would you take with you?

  1. My mother just introduced me to Karen Kinsbury.

I also enjoyed the Wednesday Letters by Jason Wright.

Parenting wise, there is Shepherding a Child’s Heart and of course Love and Logic.

  2. How fun to be celebrating 10 years! Congrats Jody!

I only really read classic fiction, and not everyone likes that, so I generally keep my mouth shut in that category unless

Jason’s and my favorite parenting book hands down is Raising Great Kids by Cloud & Townsend – and it’s good even if you’ve read some of their other stuff already. Jason said while we were reading it, “I know this is for our kids, but I feel like I’m growing up while I’m reading this book.”

Can’t wait to spend this weekend with you! See you soon! xo

  3. Scott and I both recently read “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand. Parts are hard to get through but it’s so worth it in the end. What a story!

  4. One of my favorite books is The Last Christian by David Gregory…it kind of has a lot of science and technology (along with Christianity) in it….but once you get your head wrapped around their way of thinking, it’s pretty amazing.
Living Water by Brother Yun is good.

I am reading The five Love Languages of Children too, seems pretty good.
