2 Questions for You

Okay, two questions I’m curious about:

1. Do you subscribe to blogs? Why or why not? What makes you follow/subscribe to a blog?

2. When you comment on a blog do you like it when the author comments back? And, why don’t you comment on blogs more?

I realize that is way more than 2 questions. I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I love it when people comment on my blog, but I very rarely comment on others’ blogs. I usually think that my comment isn’t important enough to put it out there for all the world to see! (I made an exception just this once; just for you, Jody.)

  2. I do not subscribe because I don’t know enough about it and just click through to things I like (or have bookmarked) like a crazy woman. I don’t need Big Brother (I mean, Google) knowing EVERYTHING about me. They already have my search, online buying history, work and personal email, videos, and blog. This is me making the tiniest dent.

I almost never look to see if blogger replies to my comments. Sometimes they do, and then mention it to me (like if they ask me a question), and I’m surprised. I just assume that my comment is the last word in a one-sided conversation. I never reply to others in the comments, though I will in email if they ask a question and I have their email. Because I love when folks comment on my blog, I almost always comment on others’, even if it’s just a “Yay! Thanks for sharing!” I want them to know I read it, I like it when they update, and I love them. I’m always surprised at the lack of comments on my blog. Maybe I need more cheerful pictures and less sob story about my life. 🙂 It’s easier to type than to edit and upload photos though!

  3. I try to comment on blogs often so the author knows I’m reading and care about their writing. Sometimes I wonder if anyone still reads my blogs – because of the lack of comments. The author of one blog I read always responds to my comments and/or questions on her blog with a comment on my blog. I like that approach because I rarely check back to see if there are other comments after mine.
I don’t know anything about subscribing.
